The Celtic Design Collection of area rugs and wall-hangings are inspired by the early Christian manuscripts created in Celtic Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Brittany in France.
Our two area rug collections, Eternity and Heritage are crafted to bring this history to life modern and contemporary home interior settings.
The Eternity Collection features subtle, modern designs in rich colours of blue, rustic, black, green and plum, each with a good knot-work border. The Heritage Collection celebrates Celtic mythology with vibrant colours and historic symbols of cats, dogs, birds and other animal design area rugs.

The collection is curated by the Higgins family, who trade from Ireland's Oldest Shop, Jeremiah Higgins located at Main Street, Claremorris in County Mayo, Ireland. Claremorris is home to Mayo Abbey, which was a centre of learning and Celtic art more than 1,300 years ago. It is one of the most important monastic sites in Western Europe.
The Ancient Celtic tribes of Europe valued creativity; seen in The Tara Brooch, The Ross Lunala and, notably for us, The Book of Kells. We found inspiration in this ancient artistry. By weaving these timeless motifs into our creations, your area rug helps preserve a rich cultural legacy to continue a tradition that connects the past with the present.

Composition
Each of our area rugs is hand-tufted from a blend of 80% wool and 20% acrylic. This composition has proved to wear elegantly over time while being easy to maintain.
